This newest and eighth issue of TRQ is perhaps the best yet. Containing fiction by Steve Cooke, Vera Searles, and others, this issue also contains an interview with ex-Kink author Pete Quaife. Also has the usual features, such as The Art of Rejection and Schlagel Press Strategy (Schlagel Press is the only game to incorporate both the mental discipline of chess and the physical rigors of throwing.
Issue #17 is the newest issue.

Rejection Artist Spotlight: Richard Kostelanetz..."One of the subsidiary pleasures of doing writing different from the fashionable norms is the recip of rejection slips different from the common run. Whereas some innovative writers prefer to submit only to editors known in advance to be predisposed, I believe in offering my work widely and generously. The Rejected Quarterly is an interesting concept magazine. The concept is simple. If your story has been rejected 5 or more times send it to the editor for consideration., If it wasn't rejected for real flaws-- lack of plot, poor dialog, opr other critical structural errors-- then he might be able to use it. A nice concept. But does it work?
I'd say ys, it does.
TRQ is a neatly laid out small press publication. A wonderful lark into the often confusing, bemusing world of the writer and the realm of rejection. TRQ features articles of interest to writers and a Rating of Rejections that was very informative for me, a fellow writer. But don't mistake me here, the fiction was well worth the cover price. The stories were at the very least good. In fact, I can't for the life of me understand why some of them weren't snatched up sooner. Lack of taste, I suppose.
Overall I found TRQ to be entertaining, well worth the price of a look
