A thrilling, eye-opening, funny zombie survival story.

The Long Wednesday is a unique Zombie Holocaust novel written and designed to be the first in a series of between 8 and 10 books. It follows the story of a couple of basically regular guys thrown into a very, very irregular situation. I originally conceived the story due to my dissatisfaction with mainstream works of the genre, of which I have always been a huge fan. Time and time again we see characters in these works behaving either entirely too stupidly and operating in denial or acting as action-hero types and being one-man slaughter machines. Neither of these reactions would likely occur if real people were thrust into this unreal situation. Instead I began my story with a concept to blend reality with the ridiculous and horror with a dash of humor. There are no big heroes here even if they do get lucky and have a few small victories. There is also curiously absent the sense of hopelessness that many of the works of this popular genre seem to cling to. Instead the story is about how actual folks would adapt and survive in a very dangerous and strange environment. The opening work, The Long Wednesday, tells the story of the first few days after the outbreak from the point of view of two normal guys that have read too many comic books and watched a lot of bad horror and sci-fi movies. This book leaves itself deliberately wide open to be the first of the series, the second of which is already well into creation. The Long Wednesday is roughly 198 pages in paperback size and contains about 62,500 words, a few of which are a little coarse. The story is graphic without being too gruesome and rough without being unnecessarily vulgar and I tried very hard to stay towards the middle of the road when choosing my vernacular. This is a thrilling story full of action, humor, and zombies!

"Ever had a bad day?

You don't know what bad is.

Some days just seem to drag on forever, particularly if that day is
the end of the world. The sleepy little town of
Bellefield has gone straight to Hell in a handcart, and took the rest
of the world with it. No more cable TV. No more fast food.
No more civilization as we know it, just hordes of flesh hungry ghouls that only
yesterday were friends, family, and neighbors. Only a few have been left
unchanged by the sweeping epidemic that has devastated the globe.
Everything has stopped and the calendar will never
flip over again. From now on every day is Wednesday
and every Wednesday is a fight for survival.

For Lou Bennechelli and his friend Davis
the end of the world is just the beginning."
