Fifteen years after the asteroid strike severely wounded the earth, mankind is still in turmoil.
With the terrorist mastermind Za-Ved Raazmahd dead, Bushmaster defeated and the Army of the Green Snake scattered, the people of North America still face the challenges of survival. Fierce storms rage. The sun is still just a red glow in the dark sky. Food and water are scarce. But these trials are dwarfed by the shadow of a new evil rising in the east.
Za-Ved’s notorious father, Sheik Dasheed Raazmahd, thought to be long dead, is very much alive and looking for vengeance. If Sheik Raazmahd carries out his plan for an all-out nuclear, chemical and biological strike on North America, the continent will be easy prey when the Army of the Green Snake rises again.
In a classic battle of high tech avionics versus barbaric cunning, the North American Air Defense Agency has to play a deadly chess game in which the evil king isn’t even on the board. Skip Scott, the rogue civilian pilot who shot down Za-Ved, is hunting down the terrorist’s father. To find the sheik, however, he has to find his “Hidden Palace”… somewhere in the Sahara Desert.
From chapter 4…
Minutes later, they arrived at the Day Care Center. Bud Cooper and Ron Taylor met them at the door. Ron was holding Cynthia and handed her to Ahana.
"Ron, Bud, what's wrong?" Skip asked, “Where’s Jeremy.”
“Better come inside...” Ron replied.
Bud took Ahana by the arm and Ron led them into the Center.
Then, Ron turned and addressed them, "Security responded to an emergency call and found the two attendants on the floor of the kitchen. They're both dead. They were apparently killed by some kind of gas. We heard the call and came straight here. When we arrived, security had already made a head count and Jeremy is missing."
"What!" Ahana gasped.
"You can't find Jeremy?! Skip yelled. Where did he go?!"
"None of the kids seem to know. They just keep talking about 'bad guys'. We've locked down the Base and initiated a search for any unauthorized personnel," Ron explained.
Bud continued, "It all started when Cynthi called the Base Police from next door. She told the operator something about Jeremy and demanded you. She's a bit upset right now and confused, too. But, maybe you can get her to explain."
Ahana and Skip took Cynthia aside and sat down with her.
"Sweetheart, we need to know where your brother is, now tell Mama what happened?" Ahana asked sweetly.
"The big mean men took him!" Cynthia replied and started crying.
Ahana gave Skip a helpless look, "William?!"
Skip called Ron and Bud, "I’m certain he's been kidnapped! Cynthi said, 'The big mean men’ took her brother."
Ron immediately contacted Security and confirmed the alert for any unidentified vehicle or suspicious males, possibly with Jeremy.
Skip went to talk to Bud, while Ahana stayed and consoled Cynthia.
After she stopped crying, she asked her mom, "Mama, why did the bad old Green Snake men take my Jeremy?"
Ahana suddenly had a cold chill run down her spine, "Little One, what do you mean, 'Green Snake’ men?"
"The Green Snake men. See?!" Cynthi repeated and pointed toward the door.
At first, Ahana didn't understand, so she got up and walked to the door. Then, she pushed the open door partially closed and the Bushmaster emblem hit Ahana like a knife in her chest. At first, she was unable to breathe. She touched the mark on the door and slowly sank to the floor as she lost the strength to stand. As she collapsed to her knees, still reaching up towards the snake emblem, she caught her breath. Her mind was racing, but no coherent thoughts were coming out, so she just screamed, "Nooooooo!"
Everyone turned in her direction. At first, no one moved. Then Bud swept up Cynthia and took her outside, away from Ahana.
Skip reached Ahana just as she stood up, caught her breath again and screamed even louder, "Oh, God! William! Oh, God! William!"
“Ahana, what’s wrong?!”
She grabbed his arms, looked into his eyes and yelled, "That bastard has taken our son! That bastard has taken our son!" At that point, she lost her strength again and fell, sobbing, into Skip’s arms as he tried to comfort her.
Then from behind him came the cold realization in the voice of Ron Taylor, "Oh my God... Bushmaster has Jeremy!"
