An extraordinary series of events, triggered by a touchstone of Feng Shui, took place after one consultation with a Feng Shui master in Sophie's home, her trapped energy was unblocked and another world opened up for her.

When Sophie Boswell combined the three different career paths she'd been traveling - nursing, art and business - into one, she went from rags to riches by the age of 57. However, as she reveals in her compelling memoir, The Power of Feng Shui", her childhood values were placed on the back burner, and her new incredible lifestyle left her wanting.

While searching for meaning in an attempt to sort out her life, Sophie came across a Feng Shui guru. She was in for a few surprises when this ancient Chinese philosophy was applied to her home and business. Apart from demonstating that applying Feng Shui works, her narrative is incredible, funny and true.

Follow Sophie's tale that begins in Sydney in 1996, travels through Hawaii, Newport Beach, and New York and ends in Dubai in 2003. Hers is a world where there is no such thing as failure, and a perceived mistake simply means finding another way to do or go about things.

It's also a fabulous love story where West and East merge.

The Power of Feng Shui: Living Proof

“Do you mind if I come sit near you?” Without waiting for an answer, he picked up his glass and moved across to sit next to me. “What is your name?”
“Sophia,” I replied, trying to sound more European than Australian.
“My name is Zayid,” he said tapping some ash with his long forefinger into the pink hotel shaped ash tray.
“I love twilight time,” I said, while tracing the drops of water on the side of my icy glass.
“What is twilight?”
I explained that it meant the time between daylight and nighttime and that to me this was a special time - the quiet time of the day. Zayid nodded.
He did a lot better understanding my Australian accent than I did understanding his English which was often spoken back to front but somehow I knew exactly what he meant. I felt that he played his words well and often got away with murder through feigned ignorance. He said exactly what he thought and was so quick. He pulled no punches and had that “take it or leave it” attitude.
“I am this person,” he said a number of times. Apart from the ongoing intrigue, I think his greatest appeal to me was that he didn’t judge anyone or any situation. Things were the way they were and that was that. Best of all, he had a great sense of humor and made me laugh. To anyone watching us it would appear that we knew one another well and met there every evening.
He told me about his background leaving out important things. I told him about my love of Hawaii and how I longed to live here one day. Zayid, I thought, was highly intelligent, certainly a man of the world, confident, clever and delightful company. I got the feeling that there wasn’t much he hadn’t done in his life. There was no doubt in my mind that he often picked women up in beach bars. “So what,” I thought. “He’s the most interesting man I’ve ever met and what have I got to lose anyway?”
I remembered my entry into the Hawaii one week earlier and how it had the promise of fun. I was now having fun for the first time in decades. What a mystery life was and what a fascinating journey it could be if one just let things happen rather than plan everything. Had I turned left instead of right, been wearing my conservative clothes with more jewelry and, more importantly, my usual expression of lifeless boredom, I would not have met this extraordinary man. “Of all the things a woman wears, her expression is the most important,” I could hear my mother saying. She believed in fate, ESP, and clairvoyants.

Spiritual Intrusions
The Power of Feng Shui is a charming autobiographical work about the intrusions of spiritual realities into the materialistic life of a successful Australian business woman. The reader cannot help but like this woman as she grows through the struggles of daily life in the modern world and opens herself up to things unseen. It makes satisfying and exciting reading, opening up to view a world of wealth. Through the subtle touches of intuitive and enlightened people the writer develops her own sense of the hidden beauty of order in nature and shares it with her readers.
Painter and writer, the author displays her talents in a gentle and unassuming manner, sharing her wide experience of the world and its beauty for the spiritual benefit of all who will take the time to become familiar with her work. I enjoyed reading this book and so will you.

I'm a Convert
I must admit,I wasn't really into Feng Shui as a solution to my life's problems. However, lately, I've been thinking about the way in which our subconscious is impacted because of our environs, and the more logic, purpose and order you give to your immediate environment, the better off your mind will be. And the more powerful you'll be. It's as if you are changing something deep, internally, when you take the effort to rearrange either your bedroom, your kitchen or your entire house, because then it represents something to your subconscious.

Sophie's book made me think in this direction and has helped me understand the illogical and the sublime power of Feng Shui. She writes from her heart, isn't afraid to admit her vulnerabilities and that's what makes this book special, and allowed me to open my mind to what Feng Shui did to her life- from Australia to Hawaii. I'm hoping to change mine now!

Nice Cool Sweet Book
I loved this book I know something about Feng Shui but yet I was charmed at the ease and style that the book was written in I felt that it would really inspire others not only to look into the subject further but to open both hearts and minds to other out there connections.
Great Job and I would love to hear about more books by this author..
