PRINCESS MUCHADO
Once upon a time there lived a prince who ruled over a small tropical island. His power over his subjects was absolute, but because of his enlightened ways in governing his island he was greatly beloved by all on the island. There was however, one fly in the ointment of their happiness. Under a treaty dating back over four hundred years, if there were no natural male heirs to the ruler, the island would fall under the rule of a large country which was not too distant from their happy shores. The country was by the islanders standards, backward, with governments that were so unstable, that the citizens had long adopted a system of mailing in their votes at elections to avoid losing time at. the polling stations, Taxes were also very high, and the citizens of the small isle knew that if they were annexed, not only were their lifestyles, but their very livelihoods would be in jeopardy.
The prince seemingly was not, too concerned with that possibility, for he had not married, and they saw no sign of his intention to form an alliance which would save them from the bleak future which loomed ever closer with the passage of time.
