Allison Webber is tired of looking over her shoulder. Stalked by shadows her entire life, she embraces the invitation to join a secret society hiding the existence of vampires. Things heat up quickly in this all male cult when she catches the eyes of two sexy vampire twins, Thane and Darcy Wallace. Amid steamy encounters with the identical twins competing for her attention, Allison learns her mission is to aid a select group of vampires, the Angels of the Night, as they hunt and destroy the females of their species. Completely taken with the brothers and her new role, she fails to see that one of the twins has been using her. Allison must delve deep within herself for the courage to save the brother she loves and destroy the one who betrayed her.

Professional Reviews

From Missy's Reads & Reviews
When I started this book, I noticed that there are many draws that snag you from the very beginning. Obviously, the first one you'll see is the cover. It's absolutely stunning. Then, if you're like me and you want to know what the book is actually about.. the synopsis will come next. And if that doesn't grab you, then the opening scenes will. If I didn't think that I was hooked into Angels of the Night: Discovery to begin with, then the first chapter definitely seals the deal. It adds a level of intrigue that isn't necessarily all revealed then, but it's something that gets trapped in the back of your mind through the rest of the story. BIG plus for starting things off with a bang.

After the initial opening chapter, the story slows down just a bit as you're introduced to Allison, her life and all of the characters that follow. The first thing that I absolutely fell in love with when it came to Allison was the fact that, yes, she's a teenage girl in high school but that in no way makes her an immature, damsel-in-distress type that we see in so many other stories where the main characters are high school students. Her personality is pretty kicking, her actions and reactions are genuine to her character, and everything about her screams that she's a great female lead for the story. Overall, I think my favorite part of Allison is her interactions with Darcy and Thane - it's all completely believable and there's chemistry there that draws you to those scenes more than anything.

While we're on the subject of the brothers... wow. Twins but polar opposites, yet you're still drawn to both in the story. I remember reading somewhere a comparison of Darcy and Thane to Louis and Lestat of Anne Rice's novel Interview with the Vampire - and I can totally see it. There's the dark and brooding, then the one who's trying to hold on to a little of his humanity. Though that's as far as the comparisons go because Darcy and Thane are most definitely their own persons - err, well.. vampires, actually.

The story is really character-driven, especially with the interactions between the brothers and Allison, but it's definitely not short of its own plot to drive the story as well. Angels of the Night: Discovery is full of history, romance, betrayal and let's not forgot what makes most good mysteries in a story - secrets, secrets, secrets.

If I had to say anything critically about this story, I would say that I find it did drag a little in spots (definitely not many!) and the POV-switching was a little confusing.. but neither was enough to deter me from the story in the least. The writing is nothing short of great, hooking you with wonderful storytelling and a great cast of characters to boot. It's a definite recommendation for all of the paranormal lovers out there. You definitely won't be disappointed.

Fantastic debut novel!
Angels of the Night: Discovery is an amazing debut book in the Angels of the Night series. Kennedy draws you in with brilliant characters and the mysterious world of Free Masons and Vampires. The story was intriguing from the very beginning and at no point became predictable. Every time I thought I had it figured out, the author would surprise me with a new twist in the story. Even though this book is tagged as a Young Adult, I wouldn't suggest it for someone under the age of 17. While there are no completed sexual encounters, there are scenes that get pretty steamy and there are emotional aspects to the story that are more suitable to an adult's perspective. The conversations and interactions between Allison Webber and the sexy vampire twins, Darcy and Thane Wallace, are a key element and bring you into the story making it easy to put yourself into their shoes. Or maybe that was just me wanting to be in Allison's shoes.

Angels of the Night will appeal to any vampire romance lover no matter if you normally read in the Adult genre or Young Adult genre. This book will stay with you long after the last page and have you waiting anxiously for the next installment in the Angels of the Night series.

A thrilling debut of mystery, secret societies and vampires!

When Allison Webber is approached by her father to join a secret society of men, mainly for her own protection, she barely questions the invitation and agrees. The secret society is none other than the Masons, a long established society of men who know of the existence of vampires and work hard to keep their kind a secret. At her first meeting Allison is introduced to Thane and Darcy Wallace, two gorgeous vampire twins who are part of the Angels of Night, vampire warriors whose job is to track and eliminate the bloodthirsty females of their kind. As the only woman member, Allison is to assist the Wallace brothers in their quest, all while trying to resist the undeniable attraction between them that is forbidden, which is proving to be harder than she ever imagined.

I must admit that I was first drawn to this book by it's title and beautiful cover and guessed it probably falls into the Young Adult genre. I was pleasantly surprised when I started reading it and found that although the characters are young, the story reads and has elements that would easily capture an adult reader's attention. The author's writing style is fluid and draws you into each scene with her splendid cast of characters.

I found Allison to be a smart, fun and young heroine. She's still in high school but isn't your typical "woe is me" teenage girl and I really like that she is her own person and doesn't give in to the constant peer pressure that comes along with trying to fit in. When she meets Darcy and Thane there's some major chemistry that she struggles with (especially when she finds out they're vampires) that makes her character very relatable for anyone who's ever been a teenage girl! Allison really blew me away with how easily she accepts the existence of vampires and her role in the society of the Masons, I don't think I would have responded the same way in her shoes but I commend her for being courageous.

Thane and Darcy might be twins but these two are far from identical! Thane is the strong, brooding type, a man of little words. His twin and Allison's love interest, Darcy, is the mischievous "bad-boy" who still holds on to his humanity despite being a vampire. They often reminded me of Louis and Lestat from Interview with a Vampire! Darcy is my favorite of the two brothers, he's strong, sexy and has tons of charm but also has a dark past he reveals to Allison, his vulnerability in that moment is why I fell for him. The tension between Darcy and Allison is spectacular (and sometimes drove me crazy) but you have to love a gentleman! Thane is a complex and intriguing character that will have you doubting your thoughts on him and then completely surprise you. He is the very definition of a wolf in sheep's clothing but there's still something sexy and entertaining about him!

The interactions between Thane, Darcy and Allison are what really drives the story, enabling the reader to step into their world with ease. The switching between Allison's point of view and Darcy's was a bit confusing, as it comes towards the last chapters of the book, but doesn't deter you from continuing with the story. Filled with secrets, forbidden romance and betrayal, Angels of Night is a new and exciting addition to the paranormal genre that will draw both new and old vampire romance fans and have you wanting more!
