Excerpt

Essence

Of all the wonders that are you,
it is the smell of your skin
that defines you so completely.
Beneath the fresh sweetness of your soap,
your scent, unmistakably male,
speaks to me of passion, tempered with gentleness.
I inhale the exotic spice of your experience,
tinged with wisdom from the dust of the world
where you have traveled.
And beneath it all, like a melody's refrain,
floats the faintest savor of the sea-
whose salty zest will forever season
the endless blue of our love.

Roses, Candy and Kisses

Touch of his skin,
pressed so soft against my own,
in spooning bliss,
minutes turned to hours have flown.
Measured breathing,
syncopated in between.
Drifting slowly,
off to pillowed sleep serene.
Waking sleepy,
in the black of velvet night,
as my lover's
hands without his words invite.
Limbs envelop
one another, eyes still closed-
love's symphonies
by the two of us composed-
played with bodies,
silent, but for song of breath,
reach crescendo,
peaking in love's little death.
Wordless language,
curls us once again to spoon.
Sleep reclaims us,
for it will be morning soon.

Under heaven
what could be better than this?
Trumps forever -
roses, candy and a kiss.
