The annoying clicking was pulling Petur from his delicious dreams. Impatiently swatting at the tickling against his nose, the softly rippled chuckle completed the task. Sighing in mock resignation, he opened his eyes and frowned at the woman kneeling beside him on the bed.
“Wake up slug-a-bug, I brought you a present from China.”
Glancing suspiciously at the hand hidden behind Sana’s back, his contemplation turned to the far more enjoyable vision of her form haloed by the pre-dawn light.
“Gads woman, don’t you ever sleep?”
She batted her eyelashes at him. Petur rolled his eyes. She was impossible and adorable and he had missed her tremendously.
“But of course, which you would have been able to recalled had you not become comatose far too early last night!”
“You’re inhuman you know? Between the incredible perambulation of flights to get home and the marathon of carnal delights we had once you arrived, you could at least have the decency to be jet lagged.”
The silken arc of Sana’s hair swirled as she vehemently shook her head. Giving in to the inevitable, he plumped the pillows against the headboard and leaned his back against them after sitting up.
The next thing Petur knew, he was staring at the ridiculous furry face of a miniature snow leopard cub which she set upon his chest. He watched in amazement as Sana prodded the toy, clearly trying to get it to hop.
“Darn! It was working a moment ago!”
He couldn’t believe it – tears of disappointment were misting her dark eyes. This would not do at all.
“Here, let me try.”
Petur took the furry thing from his chest and flicked the base several times. Sporadic clicks were followed by nothing.
“Seems your leaping leopard is jet lagged.”
Ah, that was better. Now, how to keep her giggling?
He lifted the toy to the outer corner of Sana’s eyebrow.
She blinked, her brows knitting as he hopped the cub along the delicate arch.
“What on earth are you doing?”
Turning to look at her with wide-eyed shock, he paused the progress of leaps at the bridge of her nose.
“Teaching him anatomy of course.
Can’t learn too early you know. As good parents, we need to ensure he has all the available information.”
Taking up where he had left off, Petur lightly bounced the baby feline down the bridge of her nose.
Her laugh erupted just as the furry creature hit the tip and it bounced in the air then landed firmly on the vertical grove leading between her nose and upper lip.
Sana’s wide smile provided the perfect opportunity for the bouncing to trail across her upper lip then make a circuit across the plump lower lip.
“Labiums superius and inferius.”
Hops continued up her cheekbone to the prominence of her ear where the cub rested for a moment.
“Shhhhhh, you don’t want to make him think school is for goofing off, do you? That’s the tragus, little leaper.”
Fits of laughter consumed her as the toy bounded around the shell of her ear and came to rest against her jaw, its nose tapping lightly at the lobe.
“Crus of helix followed by the helix. And stop playing with mama’s lobule, it isn’t nice.”
Obediently, the miniscule leopard bound onto Sana’s neck and she shuddered slightly as it made a slow progress of bounces downwards.
“Sternocleidmastoid and that pulsating you are feeling is the carotid artery.”
Sana trembled as the leaps ran against her collar bone, the downy fur stroking into the hollow of her throat.
“Exquisitely delicate clavicle there and you’re making me wish I was small enough to snuggle into the jugular notch.”
The slowly descending bounces sent delicious shivers coursing through her, the firm pounce caused her to inhale deeply, swelling the breast upon which it rested.
“Pectoralis major and that breast is called a mamma.”
