A mystery adventure for youth readers, aged 9-12 years.

First book in a new and exciting mystery series.

The battered hull of a mysterious old ship washes up on the beach near historic French River, Prince Edward Island. Where did it come from? What secrets lie hidden within? Perhaps pirate gold! Hannah and Emily, two quirky sisters vacationing on the island, decide to investigate. Set amid the breathtaking scenery that has made this tiny Canadian island such a popular tourist attraction, Mosquitoes of Summer takes the reader from one zany adventure to another. Join Hannah and her gang of friends as they search for clues in an abandoned graveyard, experience the unfortunate pitfalls of buying a rundown cottage, and face the tragic consequences of a powerful coastal storm. Add a dose of ghost stories and pirate lore and the result is an unforgettable summer of hilarity.

Professional Reviews

I read this book aloud with my 10 and 13 year-olds. It was a wonderful read they each identified with one of the siblings in the book. I loved all of the references to my beloved PEI.

We got to meet Julianna Kozma and her family at a book signing at Charlottetown's Indigo. It took over an hour for my children to ask all of their questions to everyone. What a wonderful family.

A great quick read for anyone. There are numerous PEI references. Especially for those of us lucky enough to know the Twin Shores Campground and surrounding area.

Look for a review by my son Daniel on Edwards Magazine. (less)
