Dine with me, please, and unravel yourself in passion, pain, humor and wisdom in my "kitchen." This is my metaphor for creating and managing life. Second Helpings is a follow up to Louise's Caveat Kitchen, published in 2009.

Poetry is yoga for the mind, stretching and expanding the tight spots for a more nimble and spacious way of seeing. Join me in the kitchen of life where succulant fruits are sensual, blenders pulverize anger, messes are revealing, funny bones flavor the soup, and flinging open kitchen windows can reveal bright insights!  This and more, in Second Helpings, a follow up to Louise's Caveat Kitchen.

Excerpt

Mrs. Butterworth’s Therapist

“You tend to pour yourself into uninvited places. It’s sweet and jolly good, but in that tacky, sticky way. And what were you thinking spreading yourself over that leg of lamb?”

Toast This White Trash Breakfast

With a slab of jam so sweet it hurts
I wear pink sparkles like a teenage flirt
Don't judge me wrong with your hands on your hips
Just pucker up and give me your lips
Can't guarantee I won't steal your heart
I'm a cheap little sugarcoated pop tart.
