Morgan Mallory meets beautiful sexy bond haired, blue eyed, Mathew O'Conner, a singer in a rock band, when she's just a teen. Her instant physical attraction to him completely unnerves her. Their convoluted relationship transcends years, and even when she knows it would be best to stay away from him she can't seem to stop herself. What is it about the bad boy she seems to love?
An edgy coming of age novel that is erotic, entertaining, and deeply moving. The characters will seize you and stay with you long after the read is finished. Not your predictable Cinderella story.
REVIEWS: "OMFG.........an EMOTIONAL roller coaster ride...........10 stars"
"I hardly ever write reviews but after I read Boy In A Band......(cannot find words to finish this sentence!) This book had me from the beginning. The synopsis is correct in saying it's not a typical Cinderella story which I loved. I'm an avid reader and it seems like so many books have the same basic storyline. Boy In A Band is phenomenal."
I was trying to reason out the emotion when Mathew came at me, shoving me up against the door. He pressed the air out of my lungs, and my knees buckled slightly, but his weight kept me pinned. My heart was racing, as was my mind. He pressed his body into mine. I put my hands between our chests and tried to shove him back. He didn’t go far. Our eyes locked. He was angry all right and so was I. I’d never thought about hitting him before, but I did now. I balled my fists at my chest.
He circled my wrists firmly with his hands, forcing them down to my side, pushing back into me, covering me with desperate, forceful kisses. My lips, my neck, down my shirt. The harder I tried to move away, the harder he worked to keep me there. He reached down and pulled my jean skirt up and tried to put his hand between my legs. I squeezed my legs tight together to block him. Pressing harder into my chest, he put his hands firmly on my hips, dragging his hands down, yanking my bikini underwear down to my knees. The yearning between my legs surprised and frightened me.

Lisa Loomis's book Boy In A Band is filled with the kind of emotional pathos that only a first love can conjure up. Every woman has had a Matthew in their life and Lisa captures the heartache and heartbreak that comes with unrequited love.
A great beach and summertime read!

A friend told me about this book and it sounded like a fun read - especially because there are so few novels out there that feel "real." Boy in a Band had a theme that I could relate to, so I thought I would give it a try. From the moment I started reading it - I knew it was different than anything I'd read before. Morgan, the central character, reminded me so much of myself and my friends during a time when we were young, unsure of ourselves, yet bold (foolish?) enough to experience life and be daring. I truly felt transported back to those days where infatuation meant EVERYTHING. I could truly relate to Morgan in her struggle to be true to herself while trying to control her love-riddled impulses. This story was original, compelling, and impossible to put down! I sure hope Lisa Loomis writes another one soon, because I will buy it without a second thought.

Wow, great story line. Very well written. Pulled me in from the first sentence and still hasn't let me go. I laughed out loud and cried real tears during my reading adventure. Made me think about "my Matthew" and where he is now. My only problem with the book was it wasn't long enough. I hated it to end. More, more please! Looking forward to more from this author.

Reader Reviews for "Boy in a Band"

|I loved reading this book!! I had a first love who I have always kept a special place in my heart for. This was an easy read and I gave it to my neighbor and then both my sisters to read. Morgan reminded me of myself, and another close girlfriend of mine, growing up and going through our LOVE problems and great times!! Great story line , I am looking forward to another book from Lisa Loomis.|
