AN ELECTRIFYING NOVEL OF PARANORMAL SUSPENSE
A terrifying vision in the dead of night begins one woman's journey into fear. Sarah Meek, newly divorced, has planned a vacation with her sister, Katie. Only now, an apparition of her dead father has appeared to warn her of danger. Could supernatural forces cross over into her world and take control of her life? Or is she losing her mind? Her sister scoffs at her vision and refuses to consider canceling their vacation.
Sarah and Katie have car trouble on a remote back road and are forced to spend the night in an isolated campground where they meet Doyle Riley, a twisted man with a twisted past, and their dream vacation turns into a horrifying nightmare. As the sisters struggle to survive the night, a spectral wolf comes to their rescue and forever changes their lives.
Sarah Meek eased the car into the driveway and cut the engine. In the intermittent light of the Kansas thunderstorm, the dark house seemed to huddle within a stand of tall, protective trees. The beam of the headlights fell on a decaying picket fence, and the post holding the yard light leaned like some tired old lady. The kitchen light at the rear of her sister’s home was barely visible. Thank goodness Katie hadn’t gone to bed yet. The clock on the dash read 11:00 P.M. She should have been here forty-five minutes ago, but the storm had slowed her down.
Sarah sat watching the downpour, wishing she had brought an umbrella. She’d have to make a mad dash for the house. The rain didn’t look like it was going to slack any time soon. She grabbed her overnight bag, raced for the porch, and pounded on the door. Her cold, wet clothes clung to her, and she wondered if the crashing thunder would muffle the sound of her knocking. Her sister might not be able to hear if she was in the back of the house.
