This book is a compilation of short stories about my life and the lessons I have learned.
A word of wisdom is hard to share and sometimes falls on deaf ears. But mothers to the end, we always try to give the experiences of our years. Then it is up to God and our children how they continue in that wisdom.
So with caution, I began a story:
"When I was a little girl we used to play air games with pinwheel flowers: the light, fluffy little balls of seed left behind by dandelions. We blew on them and the seed scattered into the air. We sometimes used a sheet of paper to play with in the air. We blew under the paper, floating the paper with our breath, running fast to stay under the paper, brething hard, keeping it in the air by the force of our breath until we got so tired we had no more air to keep the paper up. Then we fell to the grass from complete exhaustion, giving up and letting the paper cascade toward the ground, falling.. falling."
Then something better happened. The wind came with a gust of air, and took the paper higher and higher than we could have ever done.
"I tell you this to say that sometimes when we've done all we can do in our human strength, and feel as if we are puffing to keep something going, we have become the maintainer. It may be time to see if God is in charge, or if it is you."
