Learning to Write: Writing for Teachers and Students
In it you will learn about the writing process, do some fun writing activities and practice the four basic types of writing.
The activities in this book are about the writing process itself. This is not a course in keyboarding or using a word processing program. Whether your students write with a pen or pencil, or using any number of electronic devices, the process remains the same. These activities can be done using any form of “writing” – the emphasis here is on the thinking and the process, not on the mechanical aspects of getting words on paper.
What kind of writing do you like to do? Do you love writing stories? Are reports your thing? Or do you like to write about ideas that you have and use those ideas to make others think and change their minds? These are all different types of writing and we will look at each of them in the course.
This book is written for children ages 9-12 and can be done with or without parental supervision.
