Real but mysterious
Your hand rests upon me
Gentle, soft to touch
Warm and comforting
I appreciate so much
Helping me to cope
With pain, however bad
When you are beside me
It would be churlish to be sad
But then, the warmth changes
The hand, in the same place
Has a cooling energy
Yet I look at the same face
Where does this come from?
Who sends this power to me?
As now the pain eases
Though
Nothing different do I see
To you has been given
A gift of healing, rare
One to help me to progress
Along this path we share
Given by the spirit
When she had to leave
‘He will now be able,
Your pain to relieve
When I have walked, yet again
Through a vale of tears
Tried to conquer all the pain
And many troubled fears
Then, an inner ability awakens
And within my mind
My verses start to develop
As if recompense to find
Why have I been given
Access to such power?
Yet am made to suffer pain
During many a long dark hour?
As the future becomes the present
The answer will surely show
On some appointed day
The whole truth I shall know
