She woke to find herself in a cold, musty room. She could feel the grime settling on her fingers as she lay upon the floor. The last thing she remembered was running outside to find Joel. So, what was she doing here? The floorboards creaked under her weight as she stood. Then, she remembered the man, his features so grim. He'd almost had an evil aura about him. She put her hands to her mouth in disgust. She gasped, smelling a strong odor upon her hands. Chloroform. Producers and special effects crews sometimes used it to create the full effect in movie kidnappings. It could be dangerous, though, if not monitored. But, it was easily accessible to civilians also. Had someone tried to kidnap her?

She looked around the dark room. No, they hadn’t attempted. They had succeeded. The door suddenly creaked as it opened, allowing light to fill the room. She looked up to see her captor. As he stepped inside of the room, she could see his dark eyes penetrating through their depths. His eeriness terrified her; she backed herself up against the wall.
