As re-election nears, President Wilson Crawford must find a solution to the problems facing the nation; much the same as our nation faces today. Meanwhile, Macy Merit leaves Naval Special Ops, after a bizarre mission goes awry, to become “The Avenger.” Her first case involves the death of Jack Jordan, the director of the Centers for Disease Control, whose wife Vanessa is a U.S. Senator from North Carolina. Ruled a suicide by the local police, Macy uncovers evidence that points to murder. While working diligently to find the killer, Macy stumbles on a plot to develop a biological weapon to be used against civilians, not by a terrorist group, but by high-level officials within our own government. As the clues unfold, and the body count rises, Macy discovers the connection between Jack Jordan’s death, the biological experiments, and a plan to solve the country’s problems and ensure Crawford’s re-election.
