Introduction to The Easy Study Bible Commentary
The Easy Study Bible Commentary has as its overall purpose virtually the same as The Easy Study Bible, and The Easy Study Bible Diagramed. That purpose is to make the New Testament easier to read, study, and understand.
The Easy Study Bible is a new translation from the Greek which attempts to translate the New Testament as closely to the original Greek as possible. While doing so, it attempts to adhere as closely to English grammar rules as possible. Another feature of The Easy Study Bible is that most translations translate the Greek word εὐαγγέλιον as “gospel.” In my opinion, the use and misuse of the word “gospel” has diluted its meaning. The Greek word means “good news.” I translate the word every time as “good news.”
The Easy Study Bible Diagramed takes the process one step further. It takes The Easy Study Bible and places it in a diagram format that flows nicely and allows for much more understanding of what is being said.
The Easy Study Bible Commentary takes the process to its ultimate level. It takes both of the other two and adds a verse by verse commentary on the book of James.
It lists the diagramed verses with the commentary on each verse of small section of verses.
In my many years of Bible study, I have found this arrangement to be the easiest to follow and understand.
