Life in the Quality Lane is built on the foundation of practical, proven LifeSkills we can use in all aspects of life. Each LifeSkill makes its own valuable contribution, and together they combine to create a process we can all apply in our daily lives.

I often hear people say, "What a world we live in!"  What do you think of when you hear that statement?  Do you think of the many negative and confusing problems bombarding you, problems that seem to have no clear solution?  Do you think of how stressful life can be in relationships, family situations, and the workplace?  OR do you think about how blessed we are to live in a challenging time, a time full of opportunities to turn these negatives into positives through our attitudes and practical, proven LIfeSkills?

These attitudes and LifeSkills are down inside each of us.  We but need to understand, remember, and use them in the daily challenges we face, and having a handly resource can help greatly.  That's why I have written the book, Life In The Quality Lane: The LifeSkills To Make Each Moment Matter.  Learned from my own experiences as a professional crisis resolver, trainer and consultant in a variety of challenging situations in more than 100 countries, the book presents a process we can all apply in most situations we face.  It is a "how to" process of easy to remember and use steps that can help us be more effective in personal relationships, families, organizations, businesses, and in daily life.  There are also many examples and case studies in the book.

Excerpt
As we travel in the Quality Lane, we need signposts. The quality Lane is built on a foundation of practical, proven LifeSkills we can use in all aspects of life. They re the signposts in our life journey helping us to make each mile, each endeavor more effective. Individual lives are enriched. Families are strengthed. Organizations and businesses become more effetive. Organizations become more cooperative. Planning produces better outcomes. Conflicts are resolved in a way that results in sustainable, mutural benefits. Each LifeSkill makes its own valuable contribution, and together they combine to create a process that adds quality to everything we do.

In our increasingly complex, specialized, and compartmentalized existence many people incorrectly assume that there that there could not be a set of all-purpose LifeSkills. As you read Life In The Quality lane and explore the six practical and proven LifeSkills, I believe you will see how they re indeed applicable to the diverse endeavors of daily life. The LifeSkills are presented in a way tht help us to remember to use them and use them readily.

The LifeSkills empower us to understand ourselves and others; to assess situations comprehensively; to make wise decisions, to perform our jobs effectively; to conduct our relationships and interactions with quality; to deal with conflicts...almost everything we encounter on the road of life.

The first part of the book explains the six trademarkied LifeSkills and gives practical examples within the chapters. Here are the six LifeSkills included:
LifeSkill 1: Focus on the Broader Context (The Circle and the Dot)
LifeSkill 2: Focus on Connectors
LifeSkill 3: Develop Secure I, Secure Other, Secure We
LifeSkill 4: Clarify
LifeSkill 5: Focus on What Needs to be done, What Can be done, and How to do it
LifeSkill 6: Focus on a Quality Process to Produce Effect Outcomes.
I believe you will be able to negotiate these LifeSkills on your own although it may take a little practice time to remember them and how to use them in every situation.

Professional Reviews

Life In The Quality Lane
I was excited to find Dr. Weeks new book, "Life in the Quality Lane". As a community development consultant and college professor, I find this new book ingenious. Starting from a "dot" to "circle" analogy, Dr. Weeks helps the reader learn and acquire simple life skills that allow them to distinguish between the simple (dot) and complex/ whole (circle). Using acronyms such as `NCH' (focus on what Needs to be done, Can be done and How to do it); he provides a simple yet sophisticated means through which projects & conflict resolution can be accomplished.
This is a simple, multifarious book -a must have on Your book shelf. I am definitely adopting it in my classes and work (NGO leadership & community development). Fridah Mubichi, CEO MMKF (NGO) & college lecturer

The LifeSkills Work
Having been in leadership positions most of my professional life I wish I had had this book a long time ago! I have already used it for both professional practice and with a personal issue, finding it very effective in both. Dr. Weeks presents his process clearly and in language that can be comprehended by a wide age range of people. I really doubted one process could be used in such a wide variety of issues, but THE LIFESKILLS WORK! What I like most is that the process carrys the opponents through and past the problem at hand to development of an effective communication and cooperative relationship. Readers will soon be talking the "circle and the dot" language.

Everyday Life Skills
“In his latest book, Dr. Weeks addresses everyday life skills that are accessible for all of us to employ. The tools are simply and fully outlined in the book. He clearly describes a step-by-step process along with useful anecdotal stories that further illustrates the content and use of the life skills. The book is essential for our tool-belt as we navigate the present day chaotic, often overwhelming environment. Each of us are being asked now to activate our gifts and to step into the circle of the ‘power-with’ model of mutuality in communication and with community.” (Jane Ely, D.
