A Queen of the Damned alternative. This book revolves around the vampiric Goddess; Lyssia de Romanus, the daughter of Marius.

Violet eyed, Lyssia de Romanus the daughter of Marius, tells of how she becomes a vampiric Goddess.
As men dig up her body from behind what was once Akasha and Enkil's thrones, deep down in a hidden chamber, where Marius once lived in Greece.
She recounts the times throughout ancient history that she traveled with her father. And of how she discovered she was no mere vampire like he, but something more...
She learns the language and ways of the modern world as she is unearthed. She runs into an old vampire friend named Justus, while in Britain.
Together they travel to America, and start a band called The Dark Goddess. In time she runs into Marius and the one she turned into a vampire; Lestat.
Both want her, but she has other plans for herself.

Explicit language and sex scenes.

At a deep earthen secret tomb….

Chapter 1:

Charles Delacoure, head archeologist in charge of what he hoped was an ancient tomb-like structure, that he and his crew hoped to soon unearth. It had been pure luck that he had come across this find, late last year. It was now mid-summer and very hot on this Mediterranean island.
The salty sea breeze, made the site slightly more comfortable than the local village, which was further from the sea. The site was on some high cliffs, overlooking the dark Mediterranean sea. The land had once been private property, but now belonged to the Grecian government that had acquisitioned this island. A quaint little island southwest of the Greek mainland.

“Mr. Delacoure, sir! Come and see this, quick!” Raul, the overseer of the diggers, yelled. Charles from his tent hastily came running to where the overseer was deep in the pit of the site.
Pulling a shirt on, he carefully made his way down into the pit, as fast as he could. As he got to the bottom, his jaw dropped in awe as he stared at what his men had finally unearthed.
It was indeed a shrine-like mausoleum or tomb-like structure. But who could possibly be buried here? Charles wondered to himself. Was it really a tomb? Perhaps it was a worship site, a sort of underground temple. The whole area around the Mediterranean was full of them. So many questions. And the only way to find the answers was to go inside of this obviously sacred underground structure. As it was already dark, that would have to wait until morning.
The local men, had already reluctantly agreed to dig and work after dark. They were all very superstitious, especially the local islanders, they had hired. They seemed to hold a fear of the dark, especially out here. And Charles, could already see the disturbed looks on their faces, now that their find was finally unearthed. Several even scrambling out of the pit, as if to get away from a sacrilegious thing. Or as if to get away from us that lingered, as if what we had just done was “sacrilegious”. Charles couldn’t help but feeling a bit disturbed by their reactions.
“Go ahead and wrap things up for the night, Raul. We’ll see if we can enter it tomorrow. I need to fly over to the mainland tonight, and see if I can get permission from the prime minister. With luck I should be back sometime tomorrow. Though this could take a few days. Go ahead and give the men time-off, until I get back.” Charles informed Raul, as they climbed out of the pit and walked toward Charles tent. Raul gave Charles a nod, and went back to deal with closing the site for the night.

“Prime Minister, I know these things take time, but I need to get into the structure soon. There’s questions that need answering, that only entering it, will do. Five days is too long, can’t we do it sooner.” Charles paced the length of the Greek Prime Minister’s office.
The Prime Minister sitting in his chair behind his desk, sighed and said, “I understand how you feel Mr. Delacoure. I’m excited as well at this find, it could very well be full of treasures. Or ancient historical artifacts. Or it could just be a plain old underground tomb. And we won’t know until, you and your men go into it. Look, I’ll try and get the red tape cleared, quicker. But we’re still looking at two days. If you can wait two days, I should be able to give you the clearance to complete your site.”

Charles went back to his hotel, to wait the two days, until the Prime Minister’s call came through with the go ahead. Luckily the government came through and Charles was able to fly back to the island, after two days from the unearthing of the structure.

Back at the site, Charles and his men began to prepare for the opening of the tomb. Mark de Evercancy, his financier, and Gregor Laurnet his assistant and partner archeologist; had also prepared to go into the tomb. As well as Raul the overseer, and a few of the braver, yet still slightly nervous workers.
It was technically the third day, as he had arrived back near nightfall. So he felt it best to wait until morning to make the first visit inside the structure. Plus he was anticipating difficulties on opening the entrance. Sometimes these kind of structures, were sealed shut. One way or the other he was determined to get inside this thing today, even if it took him all night.
