The Treasure
In the children's story, The Treasure, Glen Sica retells the parable from Matthew 13:44 that teaches, "The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field." Casey, a young baseball player, finds himself in a similar situation.

Description and dialogue keep the reader interested and connected with the characters. Also, the bright illustrations draw in the reader. The book portrays lessons of honesty and other godly values.

When Casey finds a priceless baseball card, he hides it. Overcome with excitement, he sells everything so that he can go back and buy the card. When he discovers the store owner does not know about the value of the card, Casey faces the dilemma of whether he should tell him or not. With the guidance of his parents, he makes the right decision. In the end, his honesty brings him an unexpected reward.

I would recommend families to share The Treasure with their children. The book expresses biblical values through a simple, fun story. – Anna K. Medearis,
