My name’s Charlie Daniels. Please don’t ask me if I had a band. I’m not that Charlie Daniels, although I get a lot of women who want to friend me thinking that’s who I might be. For example, I get on my Facebook last week and the first thing that pops up is Emma Hartman wants to be my friend. I have never in my life ever heard of an Emma Hartman. She could be some female serial killer stalking lonely men! So I friend her. What the heck, I'm game. Anyway, I'm trying to out friend my sister-in-law, Irene, who's always braggin’ about how many friends she has. Something like two hundred and fifty. Trust me, if they really knew my sister-in-law that number would dwindle down to five or six.
So I friend this Emma lady and come to find out she's friends with my friend Billy's nephew who works at the cleaners on First Street. Seems she does her dry cleaning there and they started dating and next thing you know she's bouncing all over Facebook like a beach ball in heat. The power of technology is daunting. In my day, this girl would have to walk the streets for months hooking every Tom, Dick and Harry to get that many friends…

What a hilarious book. A wife and husband's out takes on Facebook. A quick read and hope the author does more each month on this subject, but using different people and different types of scenarios as well.

** spoiler alert ** I enjoyed this book. It made me smile often while reading through all of the various Facebook status updates. I wouldn't say it was laugh out loud funny, but it was certainly a good read. I will be following these monthly releases now, and if they're anything like this, then I'm certain I'll enjoy them too. My favourite one:
'Did you ever look down the list of "people you may know" and not know a single one of them? I decided to randomly click on five ladies. All five friended me back! Now if I bumped into these same five ladies on the street and said "Hi there. My name's Charlie.", they'd probably break out a can of mace and spray the living beJesus out of me...'
