Excerpt

From: The Lost Soul

It was raining so hard outside that Andy was fearful he would be swept away by the river of water that was building up in the garden. After all, he was very small and a flood could carry him away to who knows where.

His family was busy gardening and digging around the rose bushes, and didn’t notice him sneak inside the neighboring house to get dry. He managed to climb through an open window, and make his way to the kitchen sink.

As Andy climbed down the side of the cabinets, towards the floor, something very strange happened.

He felt himself lifted up and carried away. The hands that held him were warm and strong, covering his face. It was difficult to see what was going on, but he heard a voice, a gentle voice, speaking to him.

“Oh little man, you shouldn’t be here. You know it isn’t nice to come into our house like this. If you are seen, it could mean real trouble for you.”
