Who has any idea of the "real" story behind Roswell...?

A desperate battle for the survival of humanoid species has been ongoing for millennia across distant galaxies. For better or worse, Earth is about to be drawn into that struggle... and it had better be prepared to come face-to-face with a race who thrive upon the very core energies of the worlds they attack. The fate of any population unfortunate enough to be set upon is horrible, indeed. The inter-galactic balance is precarious... and Earth is destined to be the thumb on the scales! From unwitting pawn, to power player, our small planet is a closely-guarded secret weapon... the hope of a vast, but badly shaken alliance, which has given its lifeblood to an age-old struggle against unspeakable planetary genocides. It portends to be an ultimate test of the faith, resilience and resourcefulness of the human race... and, ready-or-not... here it comes...!  Excerpt
The future is not coming... it has already arrived, and we are all smack in the middle of it. As you read on, you will be made astonishingly aware of just what it now means to be a U.S. citizen. For the U.S. is in a crucial position -- and situation. Upon this nation has been thrust the responsibility not only for democracy on this planet, but also for shouldering this civilization's share of another, terrifying burden: the contribution of our planet's entire resources and all of its people to a struggle which we have only imagined in our worst nightmares... an interstellar war. Our petty, earthly squabbling has been of no consequence to any other civilization, up until less than a century ago. But during this past century, through our developing technology, we have unwittingly announced our presence to others. If you think this scenario sounds a little like H. G. Wells' "War of the Worlds," you're absolutely correct; it does, because it is. And all you have to do is read this book and open your mind and think, and you'll know the truth... a truth which may smack you in the face with a shovel. People... this is for real. There's no more playing around in insignificant little third-world shoot-outs. We're in the big one. All the marbles are being cast into the circle. It will be all or nothing. The human race of planet Earth will either be on the winning side, or we'll all be exterminated -- or worse. It's that brutally simple.

Exterminated or worse? Could it be that Prostetnic Vogon Jelz from Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy is really going to read us bad poetry for all eternity? :-)
Seriously, sounds a great read.

After reading the excerpt, there was an uncertany if we should continue, after all, who likes to be smacked in the face with a shovel...but, we overcame the fears and it was WELL worth it!
