Excerpt
From "Heaven, Revoked":
All I have left
Are these fantasies and sighs,
A bit of silver,
Little white lies, and a mind full of hope
That hinges on every non-descript message.
I try to walk away,
I try to banish you from my thoughts;
In my dreams you return,
A dismal specter in mourning--
Haunted by desires, by needs and intensity.
You deny us both...
From "Always to Dust":
Behind the closed door,
The bones rattle in rhythm with
My beating heart, a thick lump in my
Chest that expands with every sigh.
To dust, always to dust, I tell myself in the dark
Privation--my mind.
Always to dust...and I wait, always aware
That the bones are there, so close, just beyond the door...
