For months, no one had answered the help wanted ad that pregnant widow Lorna McDonough placed—until the day Julius Holt arrived at her apple orchard. Never mind that the man was the sexiest thing she’d ever seen! In fact, that should have disqualified him for the position, because the last thing the single mom needed in her life was an attractive male. She’d just have to keep him at arm’s length. But the more Lorna tried to avoid Julius, the more work brought them together. Had her help wanted ad unexpectedly led to a man much more qualified for the position of her much-beloved husband?

Romantic Times Top Pick for May
Talented Darlene Scalera has a way with tales that capture your heart and HELP WANTED: HUSBAND? (4 1/2) is no exception. With real characters and a well-developed plot, this is one book you'll want to keep for rereading.

Midwest Book Reviews
Memorable! Very highly recommended Author Darlene Scalera reveals the soul of a poet in HELP WANTED: HUSBAND. Her lyrical prose and eloquent descriptive style captures the essence of farming warm moist earth and the profundity of spring. Indeed, the novel moves with the rhyme of the season, reflecting new beginnings for spring, warm fertile growth in summer, and the harvest in the fall. The challenges of weather and childbirth are met with an understanding of the cycle of life and the unexpected moments of eternal hope. A richly satisfying, character driven romance, HELP WANTED: HUSBAND? Comes very highly recommended.

Ms. Scalera puts a lot of heartfelt emotion into this story of two lost souls who needed each other desperately to make each other whole. This is a tearjerker we romantic lovers adore, as it never lets you stray far from the theme that love is all-powerful in forgiveness, comforting and caring and happily-ever-after if we take some risks and let love work its healing ways. Mind you, there is plenty of sexual tension going on between Julius and Lorna that will shake some apples off of those trees too. I loved this book and shed some tender tears of happiness and sorrow throughout this special story. Darlene Scalera touches your heart and soul with her down to earth characters, the beauty of love, and the understanding of what makes a dynamite story. I love this author's work. Keep these stories coming Darlene. They stir my soul.
