"Lessons Learned on My Way Home" is the story of Gloria Lewis Vaughn.
"Lessons" allows the reader to visit some of the rooms of Gloria's life; to experience through her story the joys of childhood once again, to cheer, as like the Phoenix, she rises from the snare of addiction to the heights of redemption, while sharing universal lessons along the way. Lessons gives the glory to God, and to the reader, valuable glimpses of practical application. From forgiveness to deliverance, to gratitude and beyond, Lessons holds the mirror and gives not only a look at the author, but a glimpse of oneself as well.

"Lessons" charts the valleys, mountaintops, trials and transfiguration of the author.

The reader is given examples of forgiveness and reminded that this is not a suggestion-but a command.

We are given the opportunity to view "The Process", and to see from the word of God, the processes that were implemented for various deliverances, from the children of Israel out the land of Egypt and the hand of Pharaoh, to Noah, and his responsibilty in building the ark (his vehicle of deliverance) This level of spiritual wisdom is then practically applied to the author's personal Egypts, and shared with us all.

Using the word of God as the standard, we are allowed to share in Gloria's re-birth, as God places her on His potter's wheel, and forms her again, another.

Excerpt

On my way home, I learned that we don't say "thank you" or show gratitude, as we should. If you want to get a glimpse of somone's relationship with God, observe how they treat one another. As we take one another for granted, so we do God. We shoplift kindness and compassion from one another. We take gifts and never acknowledge the giver. We seek to barge into the presence of God the same way. With an urgent list of needs, we seek to approach the throne of God. Notice how you begin a prayer, and then you be the judge.

Never miss the opportunity to thank God for His grace and mercy, His love and faithfulness. And don't forget to thank those whom He positions along your path; those who encourage, uplift, exhort and admonish you.
