Elaine Lewis, who after giving birth to a special needs child, decides the only way she can cope is to tell everyone her child died at birth. Fortunately her husband, Dr. Martin Lewis does not feel the same way she does and he becomes responsible for the well being of their son. Everything changes when he can no longer care for his son.

This is a story about second chances and how even with the best intentions love can change momentarily.
Martin Lewis was the kind of doctor everyone wants to have but rarely finds. He cared for each and every one of his patients as if they were his family. His goals and dreams were delayed when his wife and daughter were killed in a serious accident.
Thinking he would never fall in love again he surprised himself when he met Elaine, who from the moment he laid his eyes on her, was certain she would be the only other woman he would love.
Elaine also fell in love with Martin very quickly, but soon the love she felt became second to her fears. Her past began to haunt her and there were days when she couldn't even think, let alone be the kind of wife Martin needed.
Their life together was not what either had expected but Martin went along with all of Elaine's idiosyncrasies hoping someday her heart would be his. If accomplished, that would be a tremendous feat and one of the reasons he was such a remarkable man.
