The supernatural and paranormal in Maine. Ghosts, witches, hauntings, UFOs and much, more. Readers will realize that the paranormal is only a step or two away from the world we look upon as real.
Residents from Kittery to Fort Kent reveal their encounters, many of them incredible and some frightening.Alien abductions, guardian angels, poltergeists, UFOs, Bigfoot sightings, ESP,out-of-body experiences, phantom encounters, superstitions, witches and exorcisms are only a few of the many happenings."When a dog in the neighborhood began howling and continued for serveral nights, my grandmother nodded knowingly and said: 'It's Ambrose Seekins-he's been poorly.' Down on our Maine farm, a baying dog was probably the most frequent announcement of an impending death, though crows flocking barnyards or cornfields were harbingers, and another sign was the nervous behavior of cows in the tie-up after milking."This was the beginning of my interest in the supernatural, though I found myself very skeptical for many years. Then I began to delve into this shadowy world and found that I could no longer deny the integrity of the many witnesses and the countless legends handed down for generations.

Buck's Gravestone
There are several versions of the way this image of a leg came to disfigure the gravestone, but one common theme can be found in every telling: it is a curse, the condemnation of an innocent victim....Buck, the article claimed was a Puritan who loathed wichcraft, and when a woman was brought before him accused of practicing the dark rituals, he sentenced her to be executed. Just as the hangman was about to perform his gruesome duty," offered the Gazette, "the woman turned to Colonel buck and raising one hand to heaven as if to direct her last worlds on earth, pronounced this astounding prophecy:
"Jonathan Buck, listen to these words, the last my tongue shall utter...upon my stone will appear the imprint of my foot, and for all time long after your accursed race has perished from the earth the people will come from afar to view the fulfillment and will say: 'Here lies the man who murdered a woman.' Remember her well Jonathan Buck. Remember her well."
