Emboldened by grief, Lyonesse of Ryonne had done the impossible by ensnaring the infamous Rhys of Faucon, the blackguard who had shattered her dreams. But now imprisoned in her castle's tower, the Mighty Falcon posed an even greater threat, for his slightest touch made her heart take wing and sent her soaring...straight into his powerful arms!
The Devil Faucon, they called him, yet Rhys was pleased, for it kept his enemies at bay. Unfortunately the lovely Lyonesse counted herself among them, despite the desire that flared between them. And their uneasy truce would soon be destroyed when she learned a newfound alliance bound her to him as his bride.
Excerpt
"Do nothing rash. I wish to be the one who takes your worthless life." She frowned at his laugh. Did he believe she was jesting?
Callused fingers brushed along her cheek and lifted her chin. When he knelt next to her, Lyonesse was surprised to find him so near. Amazed that he'd removed his battle glove so quickly and so quietly.
His breath warmed the flesh beneath her ear as he spoke. "Little Lioness, my worthless life will be yours to take."

Independent Review ~ Debbie Jett
A man searching for justice and a woman bent on revenge collide in a web of passion in Denise Lynn’s Harlequin Historicals debut, Falcon’s Desire. Billed as an Adventure Romance, Falcon’s Desire is an immediate attention grabber with well drawn characters and a finely tuned plot filled with some clever twists. The real highlight of this medieval tale, however, is the dynamic romantic couple. The pair practically sear the pages with their passion dance.
Count Rhys of Faucon, in particular, almost leaps off the page at you...and he’s major heartthrob material. Falsely accused of murder, Rhys has been given one month by King Stephen to prove his innocence. When he is abducted and held prisoner by his supposed victim’s fiancee, Lady Lyonesse of Ryonne, Faucon may have finally met his match. For a man who has not disputed his exaggerated reputation as one of the Devil’s own because it has allowed him to maintain a distance from others, Rhys finds he wants to get close to the bold, fiery Lyonesse.
Likewise, Lyonesse is on a deadline. She has to find a husband soon or lose her beloved keep, an inheritance from her grandfather. Believing the sordid rumors about Faucon, believing he murdered not only her betrothed but his first wife as well, Lyonesse is still drawn to the man.
Ms. Lynn has created two complex and charismatic characters in Rhys and Lyonesse. Both mistrustful of the other, both stubborn, both prideful and both intelligent they slowly uncover the layers of each other’s personalities.
Hurt by his wife’s betrayal, Faucon is mistrustful of women. He, however, slowly begins to trust the strong, refreshingly honorable Lyonesse. In an age when females were not highly regarded, Rhys has a healthy respect for the intelligence of women. As the pampered, spoiled daughter of a wealthy earl, Lyonesse is the first to admit she has always had her heart’s desire. She is also enough of a brat to give her character some interesting contrasts.
Sparks fly between the pair as the sexual tension builds. And Ms. Lynn definitely lets the tension build. Rhys and Lyonesse can’t seem to keep their hands - or their mouths - off each other.
Falcon’s Desire is a highly enjoyable read, filled with likeable characters, a healthy dollop of humor, some nice suspense and a fairly nasty villian. But Lyonesse and Rhys are the focus here. Lyonesse is alluring and Rhys is simply... delicious.

Debut author and wonderful new talent, Denise Lynn, catapults readers back in time as she expertly weaves a superbly written tale of intrigue and romance with her first Harlequin Historical, Falcon’s Desire.
Falcon’s Desire is impressive. With Denise Lynn’s stunning way with words and authentic dialogue, she whisk’s readers away and makes them believe that the impossible can be possible. Readers will enjoy Rhys as he sets about trying to win the heart of the woman he has come to admire and adore — a woman who goes from wanting him six feet under to just plain under her as she falls for his charms and his compassion.
If Falcon’s Desire is any indication, Denise Lynn is well on her way to becoming one of the best selling historical authors that the romance world has seen in a long time. So if you want a really enjoyable historical romance book to settle back with on one of these cold winter nights, I recommend giving newcomer Denise Lynn’s Falcon’s Desire a try. You will be begging her publisher for more before you finish the first chapter. A must read!
