Summary Inspecteur Dupont - Confusion. A huge, fiery explosion, unseen from most eyes on earth, rips apart a comet passing close to our hemisphere. The ensuing debris destroys all our satellites and communications capabilities, leaving the global population in a state of chaos. Soon, the governments discover that this explosion was not a natural phenomena but rather an act of terrorism! At the same time, Inspecteur Dupont, a friendly, fat and bald police officer in the french Alps who is much too interested in consuming his wine, overhears a mysterious radio conversation. Much against his will he is forced to investigate and literally stumbles across the first clue to the global crisis. As Dupont grudgingly continues to investigate the situation, the Nazi terrorist mocks the international community and their feeble attempts to locate and halt him. A series of dramatic and explosive showdowns across the world, demonstrate the governments' inability to cope, and the terrorist escapes with his diamonds and money to the Seychelles Islands. Inspecteur Dupont meanwhile, has very reluctantly led a fast paced life which included skiing all over the French Alps, flying in a military helicopter in full combat gear, face to face encounters with a stunningly beautiful Italian goddess, shouting matches with his annoying police chief, exploring camouflaged missile silos, and culminating with scuba diving incidences involving submarines in the tropical waters of the Indian Ocean.
