The sequel to Ties That Bind Us: Ivy's Passion, Cleo resurfaces after seventeen years. She broke the news in Part I. Will love sustain them as the recent revelations impact more lives than she bargained?
Thursday had begun ordinary, but by afternoon, normality had ended with no chance of compromise. Inevitability had brought them to a point of no return. Life as it was hours earlier had become time past. Indeed the business was done for the day. That business! However, there was a business of a special kind to be handled - addressed in a manner unlike before - the nature of business that would define who they were.
The drive from Evanston was longer than it was going. Clouds had congregated in the sky quickly and turned a dark shade of gray. Slow raindrops fell and danced methodically down the windshield of Ivy’s car. The wipers clapped slowly as the rain casually performed. It began to rain hard and the force of the large trucks speeding pass caused the car to quiver. Cleo sat quiet and still, as if they were each in her own private place. Cleo thought Ivy seem different, in a mature sort of richness. She noticed a mild exuberance in Ivy that was a far step from the naive happy-go-lucky eighteen year old she left at Bowman College. Although she had managed to keep track of Ivy over the a span of seventeen years, she knew it was not like being a part of her life. Cleo led a separate existence with the realization that they had to someday reconnect the past with the present. She thought of her life at that moment and remembered the past that had finally come back.
