I would define, in brief, the poetry of words as the rhythmical creation of Beauty. (Edgar Allan Poe)

There is an endless net of threads throughout the universe. The horizontal threads are in space. The vertical threads are in time. At every crossing of the threads, there is an individual. And every individual is a crystal bead. The great light of an Absolute Being illuminates and penetrates every crystal bead. And every other crystal bead reflects not only the light from every other crystal in the net, but also every other reflection throughout the entire universe. --The Rig Veda
My prime influences would have to be Edgar Allan Poe and Ambrose Bierce, along with a touch of Tanith Lee. I've been discovering Lee's novels as of late and am very enchanted with her writing style and the themes of her books. I am also an aficionado of Hermann Hesse.
I have written mostly in the Gothic and Southern Gothic genre, but I feel that I am advancing beyond this and would like to foray into fantasy fiction. I am working on editing a novel that I have in mind for this, and I am also working on ideas for a second story that would be a cross between a romance and high fantasy. It's not that I've lost my liking for Gothic fiction, but I feel it's time to take a break from the genre and try something new.
