"I am a prisoner of poetry. It daily shackles my heart." LBR
That's what fathers and sons, friends and family
do; they support you and even pull you home
when you need it.”
LBR From my soon to be published novel,
"The Lanterns Of Winterveil"
When you pass through the fire, come out with a lantern.

In Time
there was a time, in time
wedged somewhere between
childhood innocence lost
and final fortitude found
I became who I am today
and you found me here
no longer young or innocent
but still open to your love
this time in time is ours
there was a time, long ago
you wore a young man's beard
giving all you were and had
receiving only betrayal in return
between a time of hopeful youth
and hopeless age, you found me
hearts still young embraced
and eternal spirits reunited
once again this time is ours
Legacy
By La Belle Rouge
If I could eave a legacy
when life and breath
are done with me
Would be a love
pure and real
to cause mankind’s
weary hearts to feel
The beauty of a touch
The magic of a kiss
A moment beyond time
encased in bliss
If I could touch a life
with only my words
until the wings
of angels are heard
And arms of hate
cast upon the ground
No greater reward
for me could be found
if remembered or spoken of
new generations will say
“She wrote of love”
Remember The First Noel
Let us remember the first Noel
while we fall under the Christmas spell
shepherds watching flocks by night
startled by a bright heavenly light
angels speaking words of comfort and joy
in Bethlehem was born a baby boy
in a manger lowly the king of kings
salvation and light to all he brings
remember the star shining over the scene
the wise men three and gifts they bring
when we give gifts remember the reason
to honor Christ, the reason for the season
Giving Thanks
Whatever our trials may have been
to count our blessings we should begin
gifts of life and breath, protection, love
showered down from Our Father above
sacredness of nature, seasons of beauty
our hearts inspire, thankfulness our duty
on this Thanksgiving and every other day
we offer words of thanks when we pray
the season is here for love and good will
thank God for the bounty he gives us still

I feel that poetry is a gift, it comes from beyond our finite minds, entwines itself with our intelligence and emotions and pours out through our fingers onto the page. No one who is a true poet can take the credit themselves, for it is a gift from the Creator.
Additional Information:
I write my heart, I write of life. Sometimes it's humorous, sometimes dark, gentle at times, others raw and fierce. There are many facets of life and the human heart, both beautiful and base. I have endeavored to fearlessly and consistently release all those facets to the page.
