Rei Rei, the kitty who has led 9 lives has survived once again!

     Upon Rei Rei’s return he and his mistress, Clara, enjoyed a close bond. They were both survivors who valued their freedom. Nevertheless, a daily dose of lovey-dovey  was very much appreciated by both. Rei Rei particularly enjoyed his massage which actually is most beneficial for all of God’s warm-blooded creatures!

     Basically an outdoor cat, Rei Rei wandered on a daily basis only to return each morning for his breakfast of Newman’s Own Turkey and Veggies which he would even share with some of his kitty buddies. Then there were the moments when he would present Clara with his latest field mouse catch.

   Observing Rei Rei’s movements, Clara was pleased to note that he was too smart to venture out on the adjoining state road which unfortunately was littered with road kill. Such a keen sense of impending danger was to serve Rei Rei well in the days to come.

     The  years passed in peaceful bliss. But then came the time when Clara was called to move which presented a major dilemma. Since she was moving to a much colder climate (already freezing at night) she knew that this outdoor kitty would have frozen.

     Fortuantely, Clara has a friend who is a big animal lover. Dear Patti agreed to keep Rei Rei while Clara agreed to send down his food.  Quite honestly, the separation was painful. However, as the weeks passed Rei Rei seemed to be adjusting to his new home, even keeping the dogs at bay.

     But then the dreaded news came. Rei Rei had disappeared once again! Following a major hunt all seemed to be lost especially since Hurricane Matthew  passed through the area. Fortunately, an ad placed in the local forum on Facebook produced results. Rei Rei was found near the town high school which was 7½  miles away! He was at that point just 2½  miles from his former home which it is believed is where he was headed..

     Animals have heart and they do not forget. I am pleased to report that Rei Rei is once again warm, well-fed and happy to be with dear friend, Patti and her family and I might add the whole menagerie once again!

     God loves an attitude of gratitude. How much do you have to be thankful for this Thanksgiving?  As for me I am happy for the gift of life which should never be taken for granted and may actually be enhanced. And what is it you are thankful for this Thanksgiving and indeed all year long?
