I am a 53 year old man who has always enjoyed life.  I married my highschool sweetheart in 1973, at the age of 17.  She is my best friend.  We have raised two wonderful sons, and now have grandchildren.  I have enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping, and horseback riding.  Just the thought of the outdoors was a blessing.  I never thought all this would change, but it did, in January 1991.  I had an accident, and then one downfall led to another.  After 3 lower back surgeries, I was now unable to participate in the things that I once enjoyed so much.  I believe the lack of exercise contributed to my blocked arteries 5 years later.  I underwent  a quadruple bypass in 1996.  In 2005, I had to have a disc replaced in my neck.  Since 1991, I had been left with the aftermath of addiction.  Although I suffer with pain constantly, I am free from the addiction of pain medications.  I had tried many times to stop taking them, and had also gone through 6 detox rehabilation programs without success.  I have suffered countless withdrawals from running out of my pain medications.  My life was going nowhere fast.  I had heard of a new medication that would supposedly help individuals to get off pain medications.  I never imagined it wouild work as well as it did, it was like a miracle.  I had no cravings, no sickness, no depression or any of the things you normally have when trying to get off these drugs.  This was just by taking 2 pills every 24 hours.  They don't get you high or interfere with your thinking process.  I have nothing to do  with the company that manufactures or distributes this medication in any way.  In my book, "The Imprisoned Mind", you will journey with me as I take you through 18 months of my life, while taking this medication.  I have written it simple and not used any unnecessary words.  I just wanted to make it as simple as possible so that anyone with this problem can get the help they need.
