My career for the past 20+ years has been in construction - first as a homebuilder then as a Facility Manager and finally as a Senior Project Manager.  Yes, that's right - I'm responsible for building schools, hospitals, TV studios, dormatories, assisted living facilities and more!  Now I've put my pink hardhat (just kidding - what lady in her right mind would wear a pink hardhat?) on the shelf and taken up the computer to finally write the books I've been destined to write!  I'm working on my second book now entitled "My Mother's Secret" inspired by events in my own mother's life and I have an outline for another book entitled "My Sisters' Journey" honoring my two younger sisters who've succumbed to cancer over the last two years.  I also have planned a collaboration with my youngest son on a children's book too.  Now, a new book outline entitled "Violets Aren't Always Blue...A Love Story" about my paternal grandmother, whom I am named for and who died one year before I was born so I never got to know her.  Lots of projects - some things don't change!  Though I've always written poetry, I was inspired about three years to write a book entitled "If Our Table Could Talk-A Family History" chronicling the travels of our family dining table through various family members.  Over the years, my writings were in the form of poetry until an arson's fire destroyed my original writings.  I managed to remember a lot of them but the intensity behind this act of vandalism took away my inspiration for a long time. Over the years, I've managed to put myself in a more positive place and have begun writing again.   Since I retired last July, I've spent more time on another pasttime of mine - photography.  I started a group called "Divas With Cameras" for a local group of women friends to get out to various photo-rich environments to expand our knowledge of photography, and I still enjoy a nice glass of wine and friendship with my favorite group of women - the WAGS! I also enjoy crocheting, painting, photography, Gyotaku (painting thru fish rubbing) and so many other creative outlets!  I'm married to a wonderful man, with three grown sons and two absolutely darling grandchildren! My life is full and very blessed!
