Living My Dream "We lost what we had trying to get what we thought we wanted."

Background Information

Thomasena Martin-Johnson, a retired professor of English and Writing, is a true romantic, As a child she spent every day in some pretend story she made up along the way. When she didn't have a friend to play with, she would include her mother and father in her make believe dramas and built the play around them as they went about their daily work running the family store. Sometimes her play was like a continuing story for several days in a row. She had imaginary friends and so did her brother. Sometimes when he played with his train, she would incorporate her play with his. I guess you could say that this was the beginning of her becoming an author. Sometimes people went to know did she always want to write. My answer is not on a conscious level but if you look at the way she constructed my play---day to day, month to month--- one could say she was writing stories. Growing up on Creek Indian land and attending college in the capitol of the Cherokee Nation, she represents a unique mixture of cutures that combine the simularities rather than the differences. Her philosophy is "there are only two answers, YES or NO. There is a fifty / fifty chance the answer is YES.
