My name is PHYLLIS BURTOn and I am married with three grown-up children and eight grandchildren.  I live amongst the beautiful Surrey hills in Southern England, which have given me the inspiration to write: I love putting my thoughts and those of my characters down on paper, in the hope that my readers will learn to love them as much as I do. I have an insatiable appetite for reading and tend to panic if I can't find a new book to read. After attending a Creative Writing course, I started to write short stories. Two of which were short-listed in competitions, and one was broadcast by a Hampshire radio station. I also enjoy writing poetry and one-act plays. I produced and directed two of them for a local drama company. I love singing and enjoy water-colour painting.  I have written three full-length novels: A PASSING STORM, PAPER DREAMS, and WHEN THE ICE MELTS:  they were all published through Matador (Troubador Publishing Ltd. in Leicester). I have had two short stories accepted for inclusion in anthologies: Silly Tree Anthologies and Crossing the Paths of Tellers (Nazer) My latest book -  WHEN THE ICE MELTS - was published on the 29th August, 2016 and is a Romantic Thriller ... Sarah Wenham has to make the most important and worrying decision of her life. Her husband has been in a coma for many months after being injured in an air accident, and she is persuaded to turn off the machine which is keeping him alive. After Tom's death, Sarah builds a wall of ice around her emotions. How, when and why the ice melts is the nub of this exciting story. FOR THE FUTURE:  My next book - THE POWER OF LOVE - is being published early next year. It is a collection of short stories. HAPPY READING...
