Sometimes it feels like I've been writing all of my life.

Background Information

Nov, 2011 I've been an avid reader all my life, and throughout my career in public relations I've done a great deal of writing. I'm now a "woman of a certain age,"commited to writing my own stories. Time will tell whether they are interesting enough for people to want to read. For now, at least my book reviews are published.... One year later check in (2/12):  Completed 4 essays Received 18 rejections One editor said I drove another to tears in some areas of my essay, but it still wasn't chosen for publication I guess I'm officially a writer now, or at least that's what I'm told. One published essay would be more convincing for me. My anonymous friend (for work purposes) and I have started a blog. They're harder than we thought, but we're doing it anyway. Getting better little by little, we hope: elect2care.com. June 1, 2013 First essay, 2 years and 36 rejections letter: I received an email from More magazine saying they were publishing my essay on More magazine! Originally titlted Connections, More editors changed only the title to "What Needlecraft Gives Me." April 16, 2014 I completed 18 days as a writer-in-residence at the Ragdale Retreat in Lake Forest, IL. An incredible experience, allowing me to write, write, write and spend time w/colleagues talking about the challenges and joys of the profession.
