Educated at and then expelled from an Englsih public school - KCS Wimbledon - Julian Isaacs self published his first pamphlet of poetry at fourteen and sold it in the hippy emporium of Kensington Market. He follows in the footsteps of Michael Horovitz, Spike Hawkins and other Children of Albion. His poetry has been published in magazines and anthologies.   Julian began his first novel 'The Boulder In The Brook' in 1978, aged nineteen, and completed it nearly two decades later. The title is a paradoxical metaphor for both a stepping stone and an impediment and it links together various disparate characters from the worlds of psychosis, addiction and debauchery in a modernist fashion. He has been working for the past decade on his next novel 'Poetriloquest'.    Julian still writes poetry and short stories as well as song lyrics. His influences are The Beats, William Blake, and some of the great and 'reforgotten' London writers, such as Derek Raymond and Patrick Hamilton. His life, more than his writing, reflects the futile decadence of F. Scott Fitzgerald. Like Jean Cocteau, Julian adores the music of Django Reinhardt and keeps the spirit of gypsy swing alive playing rhythm guitar in Hamer & Isaacs Gypsy Swing Band.
