At 59 years of age I am full of life and will 'have a go' at most things!


Background Information

I have worked in the mental health sector for 22 years. During some of this time, I experienced personal relationship problems that left me feeling emotionally disabled. These personal experiences, and my role in the mental health sector, afforded me the opportunity of devising and developing strategies that enabled me, in the first instance, to continue living in my difficult relationship. Some time later I was able to utilise these strategies, in the 'Primary Healthcare Setting,' for people who were referred to me and who had clearly identified that they wanted to remain in their partnerships. Not everyone who experiences relationship problems wants to separate or divorce. The reasons for this are: religious, financial, 'committed to their partner through thick and thin,' children, etc. My strategies were used over a 10 year period with a good record of success. On leaving the Primary Healthcare Setting I decided to write my first self-help book. I wanted to share my experiences and strategies/options/suggestions/alternatives with people who were, and are, silently suffering and putting up with stuff, in their personal relationships. These people are living their lives without any visible means of escape. There are skills you can learn to help you survive, and also to develop as a person, whilst living in difficult circumstances. My first book is called, 'MY WAY' to help you live in a difficult relationship. My second book is called, 'MY WAY' to help you live with someone else's anger and my third book is called, 'Life After Your Lover Walks Out: A Practical Guide.All available on 'amazon.'

Accomplishments

My training was thorough and under the umbrella of Social Services. I was employed at a senior management level in Social Services over a 10 year period. I have 9 years experience of working in the Primary Health Care Setting and two years experience of lecturing on the 'PGCE' Course at a Business Institute. I am now the Manager of a charity that provides services for those people both infected and affected by HIV and AIDS.I am also the 'Resident Relationship Counsellor' on Swansea Sound Radio.
