Writing has always been a vital part of my life.  I've been doing it every since I learned the alphabet.  Journaling, poems, short stories, lyrics, reviews and quotations in high school to various articles for the college news letter. I've worked in the communications industry as a Relay Operator, Consumer Relations Specialist, Customer Service Agent, Telephone Operator, Dispatcher, Communication Assistant, Operations Specialist, Medical Records Clerk and Surgical Unit Secretary.  So as you can see effective communication is a big part of my life. Writing however,  is my passion and have always been.  I've done freelance work for a variety of small businesses, including minutes in reference to the building of a community center proposals for the area zoning commissioner.  I've also written reviews and articles for the The Family Youth Round Table newsletter of San Diego County.    My college education consist of an Associate in General Studies along with credits in Graphic Design.  I presently attend Columbia College majoring in Psychology with minors in Criminal Justice and Religious Studies. My goal is to physically publish what I've already written.  Write self help books along with an autobiography that will support and encourage others in the mental and spiritual aspects of life.  I am also contemplating some children stories that will teach and inspire children throughout generations as my contribution to society.     My greatest influence is my relationship with God.  After that, my mother, children, grand children,   Bishop Michael Patterson,  my aunt,  Quincy Jones, Martin Luther King,  and the whole gospel music industry. 

I have several short stories published in the book; " The Traffic Noise Below (Tales from a Multi-Colored Room) In conjunction with the women of the YWCA.

I've written song lyrics,poems and received an Editor's Choice Award for outstanding achievement in poetry, presented by poetry.com and the International Library of Poetry in 2003.
Many years ago I wrote to Congressman Herbert Bateman; during his term and received a response directly from his office (which is rare). The issue was in regard to college grants and tuition increase. The detailed response I received encouraged me to use my writing as a tool in making a difference or positive change in life.
