Born in New York City, Nicholas Samuel Stember (Sam to those that know him) spent most of his life in the suburbs of Princeton, NJ. Growing up with a profound love of fantasy, science fiction and horror, the direction his writing took was firmly set. His love of those genres also found him a wife from across the ocean, and he ended up marrying her and moving to the Faroe Islands, where he resides today with her, her son and his wife, three grandkids and three dogs. Won 3rd place in the Kinsman Quarterly Iridescence Award with the short story, "Residual Effects" in 2024.
Won grand prize (1st) in the Kinsman Quarterly Iridescence Award with the short story, "In the Eye of the Beholder" in 2025.
Additional Information
I've had short stories published in various publications, including one which was also turned into a Podcast on Creepy. I had a story win 1st place in the 2025 Kinsman Quarterly Iridescence Award and had short stories chosen for several anthologies that came out in 2024 and 2025 including Iridescence and New Contexts: Vol 7, with a new science-fiction novel out last October from Rogue Phoenix Press, and another one coming out next October from the same publisher.
