Mr. Wilson was born in Biggar, Saskatchewan on August 31, 1938, but raised in Whalley’s Corner, Surrey, British Columbia. Mr. Wilson is married with three children and four grandchildren. At a very young age, Mr. Wilson followed in his parent’s footsteps and became an avid reader. As a child, his two sisters and five brothers watched their parents tap out stories on an old portable Underwood typewriter. He envied their patience as they wrote and rewrote, typing page after page. Weaver and Isabel Lucy Wilson never became well-known authors, but they were certainly my inspiration. It wasn’t until his wife, Sarah, purchased their first computer in 1994 that Mr. Wilson became determined to follow his parents and become a writer. Mr. Wilson entered the Surrey Creative Writing Program and began his first attempts at writing. By the time he received his certificate, Mr. Wilson had had numerous articles about growing up in Whalley’s Corner published in the Vancouver Sun, Pioneer News and the Salt’n Paper. What the young people accomplished in Hungary in 1956 always fascinated him. He had read numerous non-fiction accounts of what took place and decided to write his novel, A Reluctant Revolutionary published by iUniverse in 2007.
