AUTHOR’S PROFILE     Larry Bate Takang is a Cameroonian born Dutch national. He pursued his childhood dream carrier in Journalism at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. Before graduating as a Journalist in both the print and electronic media, he was privileged to have won the Association of Journalism Students (AJS) best writer Award.   As a Journalist and Broadcaster, Larry Bate worked with the Cameroon Radio and Television Corporation (CRTV-Buea) during which,he presented a live Radio program on literary appreciation entitled; ‘Literary Forum’ for about 5 years. At the same time, he has worked as a freelance Journalist for the print and online media bagging more than 400 published articles to his credit. He was also the Press consultant for the German Technical Assistance (GTZ)-Mount Cameroon Project, Buea-Cameroon, as well as Permanent Reporter for Alliance-Franco-Camerounaise Buea (The French Cultural Centre).        In France, he underwent training in Radio Programs Production and Private Radio management, at Radio France Internationale (RFI), Paris. To improve on his Television reporting and news gathering skills, Larry  undertook a three-months training with the Regional News Network Channel 7 (RNN7) TV Station in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.             Apart from his present posts as the Executive Director of Africa Press International (API) and the editor-in-Chief of African Celebrities Magazine, Larry Bate Takang is as well a Poet; Playwright and Novelist. His other works include: Orphan in Blagga; The blind boys and the Journalist; The Persecuted Child; The witch also cries; Dead of a deadly friend; When the world is in a dustbin-SOS etc etc           He has held several significant posts and functions, amongst them: -Interim Sec. Gen of Cameroon Association of English Speaking Journalists (CAMASEJ). -South West Provincial Treasurer, Cameroon Volleyball Federation (FECAVOLLEY). -Secretary General; Alliance Franco-Camerounaise Buea. -National Editor-in-chief Junior Chambers International (JCI). -Director Arena Theatre Buea -Volunteer Amnesty International and Oxfam-Novib, the Netherlands etc.            He has also taken part in numerous seminars, workshops and debates on the media, culture and environmental conservation.
