I knew I was going to be a writer when I was a junior in high school.  I wrote the feature section called "potpourri" in the weekly high school paper and was hooked.  I earned my B.A. in Communication and worked as a radio news anchor for five years and then retired to be a full time mom.  I wrote my story, "Always the Elf" when my  youngest was six months old and gave it to my family as a gift for Christmas.  Nine years later, I pulled out the manuscript, tweaked it a little and submitted it.  It was published in October of 2007 along with two stories of mine that appear in "Chicken Soup For The Soul: Children With Special Needs."  My son Bennett has autism and I was inspired to write for Chicken Soup.  Today, many of my stories include characters with "special needs" or quirky behavior.  I love to celebrate each child's uniqueness in my writing.  I have  second book called, "The Easter Elf" being released in Spring 2009.
