Dimetrous was born in Greenville, Texas on September 30, 1948.  She grew up in Greenville, and graduated from Carver High Schooil in 1967.  She worked for the Greenville Independent School District for 26 years, retiring in December of 2003. During that same year she received her Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, in the same month.  She later received her MBA in Business Management and Leadership in 2010.  In 2015, was awarded an Hononary Doctorate Degree. Dimetrous was the Place 6 School Board of Director of the Phoenix Charter School.  She has served on numerous Boards:  Executive Board of RWC Alumni Reunion, Place 3 Substandard Structures Rehabilitation Board, Fish Board of Director and Tourism and Convention Advisory Board.  She is a guest writer for the Greenville Herald Banner. She has been a volunteer for President of Friends of Library and Greenville Cemetery Committee. Dimetrous has numerous awards:  How To Create A Life Worth Living, Influential Citizen of Greenville Award, U.s. Honors Society, Who Who Cambridge University, Outstanding Human Service Rights Award and Citizens Appreciation Award City of Greenville. She was married to the late Maceal Nixon, who passed away in March of 2004.  She has one son, Kevin Nixon, who resides in Dallas, Texas. Her hobbies include collecting antiques, reading, and doing something constructive each day. By being married to a minister for 35 years, inspired her to write her first book,and it tells the many struggles ministers and their wives go through.  It will walk you through the many obstacles, with also showing you how to overcome them.
