Ed Torrence has had a long-time desire to write a novel, but as he says, "I just could not seem to find the time to do it."  Ed was born and raised in Montana. After four years in the Air Force he ended up in Seattle working for Boeing. He eventually moved to northern Idaho where he has resided now for many years. He was married there and has two grown children. Ed has worked at several trades including construction, heavy equipment operation, and law enforcement. He has also been involved in local politics and property rights, including serving for several years on the local plan-ing and zoning commission where he took an important and active lead in rewriting his county's comprehensive plan, and zoning laws. Songwriting is a one of Ed's hobbies. He has written songs and poems since he was five years old. He enjoys accompanying himself on his guitar. Humor is something Ed likes to interject into his writings. He claims that a little humor is necessary for mental well being.  Ed is now retired but keeps busy with a variety of interests including building and selling a small electronic device on the Internet. He is also constructing a hovercraft, another long awaited project that he is finally finding the time to do.
