My life changed drastically in 1965 when I was drafted into the US Army. As a young man drafted off the streets, within months I  found myself in Vietnam. A one time  amatuer boxer and a rock 'n' roll musician I was a fish out of water in the military. I adapted, and became an infantryman, a US Army paratrooper. I served as both an infantryman and a reconnaisance scout. I took my war experiences and my musical carrer and coupled them with my life  post Vietnam, and wrote a fictive account of it all. A sort of memoir if you will. I have found writing of my war experiences to be cathartic. My book is not just about the shoot 'em' up aspect of the war, but more of a look inside of the minds of the young men fighting these escapades.  A search for enlightenmentI. I  like to write about their  hopes and dreams in spite of the hardships they endure. I also deal with the post war period. The part where coming back home just ain't that easy.
